Sir Peter Blake was a famous New Zealand sailor, he sailed around the world and won lots of races. He was a great leader all over the world and his leadership is still celebrated by New Zealanders in the country. Because it is New Zealand leadership week we did some research on Sir Peter Blake. In our maths lesson yesterday we were given a complicated puzzle to solve. We very hard on it trying to figure out the answer, drawing different 3D boxes and sums.  We did figure out the answer after a while but it was a lot of hard work. 

Get out a pencil and paper and see if you can figure out the problem.

Banqer

Banqer: 

Banqer is a website where we are learning about banking and what will happen when we grow up. Banqer teaches us about tax, income, interest and we can even buy houses. I like using banqer because it is fun and I have learnt a lot.

Swimming Camp
This Holidays I went on a swimming camp with my coach and my swimming friends.
We had swimming training in the mornings at the pool where we stayed. In the afternoons we went to the Matamata Swimming club to do our second  training.
I had lots of fun at swimming camp and I really wan't to go again.

As I walk through The Gardens of Eden, I feel the cold breeze cutting through my thin coat. My bike bumped repeatedly against my leg but I didn't bother to do anything about it, the soft turquoise colour soothed my thoughts about Ivy's death. I finally found shelter behind a huge oak tree and slept. 

I woke up to a beautiful morning full of prancing birds and happy cicadas. Then it hit me. I need to go back. I run through the Gardens pushing my bike as fast as I could. 

But when I got to the gates they were locked… 

I need to get out. I run the whole way around the gates but nothing is open. So I decided to wait, I think it is the longest wait I have ever had to have wait. 

When the guards finally came out to open the gates I run out without listening to the questions and remarks that followed behind me. 

For our class weekly writing we had to go on a website and find an image to describe. Then write a description on the picture in present tense.

I did mine about a girl around the age of 13, that had run away from home with her bike because someone she knew died. I think that I chose this picture because I love bikes.

The Dread Willow Marsh

I did another book cover on Canva.com today. I chose these pictures because I think they really suit the book and the character of the book. The book is called The Dread Willow Marsh. (I made up the name and the book) The book is about a spooky marsh with magic. I really like the book cover and I think that you should try and make a book cover with Canva.
